Precast/Prestressed Wall Panels

Insulated sandwich panels or corewall -- walls that really work!

Insulated precast/prestressed wall panels are the best choice for food processing facilities, warehouses, retail, industrial, manufacturing, and educational applications. Built to last longer than other types of wall systems, precast wall panels resist the adverse effects of wind, rain, equipment, airborne contaminants, and soil.

When there is more land than money available, AP Concretes insulated retrofit panels are ideal.

Benefits of Precast/Prestressed Wall Panels :

  • Owners can limit initial construction costs to immediate space needs and only add additional space later as needed
  • Insulated retrofit panels offer a variety of economical exterior colors, textures, and finishes
  • Varying R-values are available, determined by overall panel thickness
  • New construction moves along quickly with minimal interruption to existing operations
  • Faster building enclosure means other trades can finish their work faster
  • Temperature control and cleanliness can be maintained

With insulated precast concrete retrofit panels, you can build now … and later, when it fits the developer’s needs and budget.

Corewall Panels

Corewall insulated modular panels are strong, durable, and beautiful. Produced using up-to-date, mass-production techniques, machine-applied finishes and in modular sizes, Corewall panels offer a superior wall system at prices equal to or less than comparable materials. Panels can be furnished in customized widths, but optimal layout usually results in 10’-0” and 12’-0” wide panels. While 4’-0” wide panels are rarely used, they are sometimes specified to expand existing buildings, which were originally constructed using 4’-0” wide panels. Prestressing strands are provided in both the inner and outer wythes of the panels to withstand the stresses imposed during handling, shipping, erection, and service loading. Insulation values range from nominal R-10.8 to R-15.6, depending upon individual specifications. Corewall also features an inherent, four-hour fire rating as tested by Underwriters Laboratories UL Number U-909.

Precast Architectural Panels

The perfect union -- durability and aesthetics

If you have never used precast concrete, you will be amazed with the design versatility and exceptional aesthetics available with AP Concrete architectural panels. Design your own finish using exposed aggregates, sandblasting, form liners, brick face, etc., or ask us how to “mix and match” for a totally unique look.

In addition to the natural plasticity and design flexibility, precast architectural panels are highly durable and made to withstand the natural elements (wind, acid rain, road salts), as well as certain impacts from equipment and vehicles.

AP Concrete  has the expertise to guide you successfully through the process of selecting, specifying, and erecting precast concrete for your next project. For the most trusted precast/prestressed concrete design information available, contact AP Concrete.

Benefits of Precast Architectural Panels:

  • Custom shapes, colors, and textures
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Load bearing or non load bearing
  • High remarket value
  • Early building enclosure
  • PCI-certified production

Precast Beams

Along with other structural members, AP Concrete also produces precast concrete inverted “T” beams, inverted “L” beams and rectangular beams. Whether produced as conventionally reinforced or prestressed, AP Concrete structural beams can be used for numerous applications and can be produced in various sizes and lengths, depending upon the building design.

Whenever using precast/prestressed concrete products, costs are reduced, construction schedules are accelerated, and quality is built into the manufactured products.

Benefits of Precast Beams :

  • Maximum durability and structural strength
  • Excellent for fast-track construction
  • Can be manufactured and erected during inclement weather
  • Provides superior loading and clear spans
  • Cuts overall construction costs

Double Tees:

A hands-down favorite with prominent parking garage designers, the highly popular double tee can also be designed for use as an economical, dependable floor or wall system for other types of structures, as well.

AP Concrete double tees are produced in varying widths and lengths, and are produced to provide maximum loading capacities and expansive open space, as well as efficient, uniform floor-to-floor heights.

Benefits of Precast Double Tees:

  • Maximum durability and structural strength
  • Low maintenance
  • Excellent for fast-track construction
  • Can be manufactured and erected during inclement weather
  • Provides superior loading and clear spans
  • Cuts overall construction costs

Precast Columns:

A totally precast concrete structure starts with the columns. Quality is built into each column manufactured through careful planning and detailing of each piece. AP Concrete uses innovative production techniques to guarantee a quality-finished product, and an exact fit of all precast pieces during erection.

Casting the columns requires the precise installation of specialty tie reinforcing, regular reinforcing, ducts and sleeve for steel bars, and posttensioning cables and various miscellaneous metal inserts and stressing hardware as determined by design.

Hollowcore

AP Concrete hollowcore is a precision-manufactured, precast/prestressed concrete plank produced with normal-weight, high-strength (5,000 psi minimum) concrete. Hollowcore floors and ceilings offer superior durability and natural sound attenuation.

As a decking material, hollowcore provides a completely finished ceiling surface that can be used as installed or can be painted or sprayed with an acoustical (or textured) spray. For ceilings that require the installation of dropped ceilings and special lighting, hollowcore can be drilled or shot to install electrical, as well as HVAC fixtures.

With its strong, durable, uniform deck, the hollowcore surface merely needs minimal cast-in-place concrete topping or leveling coat for smooth floor finishes when applying tile, marble, or linoleum. For carpeting, even less surface preparation is required, depending upon camber. Typically, all that is required is feathering the joints with a latex cement or grout. The surface is then ready for application of a separate, 48-oz. pad and carpet for a completely finished floor.

Benefits of Hollowcore:

  • Fire-Resistance Ratings of 1.0 Hour and 2.0 Hours are available
  • Precision cast using 5,000 psi (minimum) concrete
  • Low maintenance
  • Fast, all-weather construction
  • Superior loading
  • Strong, durable, and clean
